Everbuild 1 Litre Lead Mate Patination Lead Finishing Protection Oil used for sealing soft metals such as lead on roof weather sealing applications.
Everbuild Patination Oil is used as a protective coating on all newly fixed leadwork a very important stage it will help to protect the leadwork from staining.
Patination Oil has been specially formulated to provide a protective coating for newly installed leadwork that helps to prevent the white carbonate staining that affects new lead and surrounding roof tiles, brickwork, and stonework.
Patination oil is a white spirit based blend surface treatment that can be used to protect lead from lead carbonate forming, when newly fitted lead is exposed to moisture there will be a build up of lead carbonate on its surface. Lead carbonate shows as a soluble white undesirable coating.
Just one coat of EVERBUILD Lead Mate Patination Oil also helps to provide uniform, attractive appearance to newly installed lead and helps the natural ageing process whilst the natural patina of the lead is being formed.
It is particularly important to treat areas of newly installed lead that are subject to water flowing over the surface onto surrounding areas as staining of tile and brick will be more severe in such circumstances

Apply by cloth in one direction.
How To Apply Everbuild Patination Oil:
Always wear gloves and only apply in a well ventilated area.
Shake container well before every use.
Surfaces must be totally dry before application.
Apply oil evenly using a soft absorbent cloth, work horizontally starting at the top and maintain a wet edge at all times.
Only one coat is required.
Before clipping apply to underside of lead to approx 50mm from the edge.
Apply to all areas, including clips and trim, and coat between laps.
Applying Patination Oil to Old Lead:
Yes but you must use a cleaning gel to remove any existing staining and dirt.
Once cleaned wash the gel from the lead, leave it to dry and then apply the layer of patination oil.
Important Information:
DO NOT APPLY IN A CIRCULAR MOTION AS THIS WILL LEAVE AN IMPRESSION ON THE LEAD.
Always apply as soon as possible after installation, or at the end of each working day, or if rain is expected apply before rain.
